Extension
Ashley, there are a lot of posts missing so you need to update the web-log over half-term.
Video production feedback
Titles are simple but the fonts chosen are effective and link to the
mood of the song. Time lapse footage is
found sourcing appropriate material and used effectively for an opening and
closing sequence bookending the video. You experimented with your own time
lapse but chose not to use this for the final product. A range of shots show a
performance on the piano. The colour is taken from these shots to evoke a mood
and to separate from the narrative.
Transitions are added in successive drafts and range in variety from
cross dissolves to fades. Editing possibilities have been explored thoroughly
and successive edits show this progression.
Some shaky
shots are used to create a home video or point of view effect. Use of a tripod
and framing is proficient but needs to be steady and composed throughout. Zoom
needs to be avoided
The
narrative is clear and storyboarded to reflect the lyrics of the song. It could be more ambitious as the shots of
the artist looking
A
performance of the song by the artist involves a range of shots which dissolve
into each other with a proficient attempt at lip synching. Attempts to dissolve this with shots of the
break up are effective and show imagination. Shots of the artist’s vocal
performance in the studio provide range and link with the shots in the theatre
with the piano. Lip synching I successful showing attention to detail.
A lot of
work has been done in post-production to improve the piece and the successive
edits show this. Clearly branding an artist 30/40
