Extension

Ashley,  there are a lot of posts missing so you need to update the web-log over half-term.

Video production feedback


Titles are simple but the fonts chosen are effective and link to the mood of the song.  Time lapse footage is found sourcing appropriate material and used effectively for an opening and closing sequence bookending the video. You experimented with your own time lapse but chose not to use this for the final product. A range of shots show a performance on the piano. The colour is taken from these shots to evoke a mood and to separate from the narrative.  Transitions are added in successive drafts and range in variety from cross dissolves to fades. Editing possibilities have been explored thoroughly and successive edits show this progression.

Some shaky shots are used to create a home video or point of view effect. Use of a tripod and framing is proficient but needs to be steady and composed throughout. Zoom needs to be avoided

The narrative is clear and storyboarded to reflect the lyrics of the song.  It could be more ambitious as the shots of the artist looking

A performance of the song by the artist involves a range of shots which dissolve into each other with a proficient attempt at lip synching.  Attempts to dissolve this with shots of the break up are effective and show imagination. Shots of the artist’s vocal performance in the studio provide range and link with the shots in the theatre with the piano. Lip synching I successful showing attention to detail.

A lot of work has been done in post-production to improve the piece and the successive edits show this. Clearly branding an artist 30/40
