there are many different ways to describe this film and they are survival, apostolic , role playing and these are all based around what you do in the game and this is because when you are in the game you play as someone that was in this place called the volt and they get out and it shows you how they save it was set in 2274 witch shows that technology was a lot more advanced. when looking at the esrp rating for this was mature and Peggy rating was 18. This is a game about a man verse man and how they are trying to savive after a war has ended and the world they know has ended.

the target prudence for this would be 16-20 and this is because this is the age that you get into games like this. if you are younger you don't really want to play games like this and most peasants wouldn't let you play these types of games.

though this hole video there is a lot off different editing used such as there was a lot of crossing cutting between time periods and this was used well as the sort of 50's feel to the game made people see it as more realistic. the fade to black at the end off the trailer was used well as this was used just after the nuke went off and this shows that time is coming to a end.

the music used is distort and this is because when the nuke went off they would have that good technology you would have to fend for yourself and do what you can. also this seance off a 50's theme they wouldn't have good quality music players. but this also meant to seem like something was going to go wrong. then the song used in this advert was called 'its all over' this shows that the world was about to end and this is a good use off music because it tells you a bit about the film also it has the 1950's feel to it again and this is well used.

when looking at what is in the trailer there is a dog though the hole video and the animal god is known as mans best friend and he will stick with you though everything and this is just like the game and when they use the cats to go from one time zone to the next it is like the dog going back to where his owner was to try and find them.

when looking at this music idea there is a lot happening for a start all off the cuts go to the beat of the song. and at the start he is in the frame look at the sun set and represents the fact that his life is coming to an end just like the day ends with that. When you first see him he is wear black as he was known as the man in black and you just see his guitar and this shows that this was his life. Then there is just a a frame of the American flag as he is seen as a icon and a hero the people to the hero of America. in the next scene there is footage of his museum and there is a shot of a broken golden CD. Then there a montage then of his life and what he did and in this there is a clip of him doing a gig in a prison and there was also a film made around this the last stand. then there is a lot of representation off jesus crist with him sitting at the table and with red win and this table but there is no disciples and this would be his fans but he doesn't want to have this life and as he has lost his mom and losing his wife he has no one left and he is alone. and then the poor's out red wine and that is a disrespect to god. and then it fiishes with a montage of different religus simples and then ends with him back when he was plaing in black and white to shows he was like that and ends with it fading to black and this shows his life ending when it comes to that.

task 2 - Binary opposition

Binary opposition

A binary opposition is the conflicts between two different things in a film and this creates the narrative for the film. The person that came up with this is Levi Strauss and he said, “All drama is conflict.”

Levi Strauss was a French academe that was looking at Structuralism and he studied philosophy and this gave him a look on the world and he looked Structural anthropology when it came to Weston cultures and that is how he came into film and tv drama.

Cowboy and Indians- These are the classics that are different in the old Weston films.

East and west - these are when the different places where these reveler lived.

Gun and bow and arrow-this is old verses new.

These are some of the oppositions for Sci-Fi and this is heavily linked to westerns as they have a very similar concept as there is a also an enemy that doesn’t look like hero. when looking at the film battle ships there is a lot off this binary oppositions such as old and new as there is a battle ship from the second world war and it is against this massive alien space ship. then there is the people that are old as well. there is also rockets against cannons and this was the difference in weaponry.

task 2 - Andrea Arnold - Analise a short film

when looking at the style off arnold is that she does the film in the veiw off the kids and this is to create the effect that the are lost or alone and this can aslo be seen as they want ot be happy as well. also she does a lot of hand held shots and this is to create the effect you are in the film. The way that she gets the kids to act aggressively and also they use language they shouldn't normally use. there is also a lot of use of hand held shots when she does her work so it creates the effect that it is from the kids point of view.

this is a shot of a little girl looking though a door at her mom. There is not a full face off the child and this shows that she doeskin want to be seen. from her factional expression she looks really worried and lost and this is because of the way that she is being raised not very well. The rust on the door shows she is not keeping them clean just like he house.

 

 

 

 

task 2- lynne ramsey

when looking at what a short film is, you can see that it is anything under 40 minuets and it doesn't have to be a narrative. this is because a short film is there to show what the director can do. this is a low budget film. when looking at what kinds off short films she does, i have come to the conclusion that she likes to show in every shot she does a different emotion. the way that she does her shot she likes to not show the hole body and to create more tension.

 when looking at this screen shot there is a kid cleaning his shows and that shows just from this that this is a massive event to the family because they have to look clean. and the fact that they have to do it themselves shows that they cant afford to get people to do it for them. this shot is also focused on the boy and him cleaning the shows and this shows that he will play a key part in the story.

 this shows sums up Lynne Ramsey style off film as she doesn't like to show the hole off the body when doing the shits. this is a good way to do it as though this shot she is happy because he feet are dancing around having a good time but because you cant see her face you feel that something will go wrong as there is this sense off lost and messiness.

in this shot it shows the little boys face and from this shot a lone there is emotion in just his eyes and the fact that the scene behind him is out off focus shows that he is a important part off this film. and the disappointment and upset in the boys face shows that he knows something is wrong and as he is older he understands what is going on later on in the film but the girl doesn't until the end off the film.

 in this shot there is an effective use of a Vin-yet witch sums up what Ramsay types to do in her film and that is have a hidden meaning behind a shot that is so simple and this Vin-yet shows that something is going to go wrong and that he has something to hind. also the fact that the boy is so far behind them also shows that he doesn't what anything to do with what is about to happen.

task 2 - METZ

christen Metz devised a genre model that he developed in 1974.

by experimental this is that type of film that experimented with different types off things for example looking at Dracula and all the organelle horror terms. by classic these are the golden age of film and this is the phase of films which established horror genre in its most successful and defining period.

parody we mean films that have mimicked the horror genre in some monical way.

deconstruction is have you separate the  and you have all of the different sub genres as well.






This is an example of a classic music video. This is a classic as when this was produced in the 1960's . This is a video is a video of them performing in front off a live audience and they are being filmed. This is a classic as it isn't like a normal video you would see now it has a narrative and this was them having a good time wile them are playing there songs. This was on a early ways off seeing them on the tv and this made people want to buy there songs.








This is an example of a parody. this is a cover to nirvana . this is the same setting of the irrigable music video but the lyrics have changed and so have what the people performing looks like. everything is exactly the same costume as the classic version and the person playing the main singer has these geek look to him so we know that this is a comedy and we also know that this is a parody because of the fact that there are some little changed that take the piss out off the music video.





This is an example of deconstruction. as this is a animation it is a different use off different genres. the fact that there is a walking monkey this is the a mix off comedy and action as there is a lot happening and there are attacks and fighting but there is this comedy factor to as it is a monkey doing all the fighting. also there is a hint of romance behind this music video as the monkey falls inlove with a girl. 





this is an example of experimental. This is queen and when they filmed this was to promote there song as this was a way to promote the song so people would go out and buy the single. This video is about a man dressing up as a woman, but this really means that he is hiding who is he and he wants to exspesh himself. but when he walks out of the closet like showing who he really is he gets to exspesh himself.
